Speaker 0 (00:00:00) - Welcome back to the Money Mindset Hub podcast. I'm your host, Carla Townsend, and I'm a money mindset and success coach for female entrepreneurs who are ready to manifest a masterpiece in their life and in their business. So let's get started.
Speaker 1 (00:00:15) - Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Money Mindset Hub podcast. I am so excited to bring this conversation to you today because today truly the actual theme of my day has been all about triggers, and it is one of the most transformational things that you can possibly do is to master the art of becoming UNT Triggerable. Okay, so this is what I really wanted to bring here because I feel like it's such an important conversation. It has literally been the theme of my day, and I needed to bring it here to my beautiful listeners and the beautiful Money Mindset Hub podcast community. I appreciate you. Thanks so much for being here. Thank you so much for listening and let's get stuck in. So today, earlier this morning, I delivered the Matrix membership call and it was about unlocking the power of becoming UNT Triggerable.
Speaker 1 (00:01:10) - And it was in incredible. It was amazing. There was so much that I could see that it was just landing what the ladies were saying, the triggers that were coming up. And I mean, I have heard it all over my time doing this. There's been so many different things that I'm like, I see themes now. I truly do. I see themes in the triggers that we have and how we allow that to, I guess, stop us from where it is that we're going and to look at triggers like it's a negative thing. And so I dive deep into this concept there, but I'm gonna give you a little bit, I suppose, of a summary of why I kind of wanted to bring this conversation here too, in a different way. And obviously, if you enjoy this conversation and you want to hear a lot more, and for me to dive a whole lot deeper into this concept, then you are more than welcome to join the Matrix membership before I close it.
Speaker 1 (00:02:00) - But yeah, it's still available at the moment if you wanna go in and catch the first few replays and join us in the upcoming live calls. So in this call, all about the art of becoming UNT Triggerable, the reason why I even brought that up was because I have got to this point where the things that used to trigger me do not trigger me anymore. And that seems crazy because I used to be the most triggered person in the room. I had no confidence, no self-belief. I felt the fear of judgment so heavily that it would affect me even wanting to walk into a room, going into rooms with people and everyone looking at me. That was terrifying to me. Absolutely terrifying. And people are quite shocked when they hear that because I do come across as quite a loud person. I'm a loud introvert, <laugh>, and of course around certain people, I'm a lot more comfortable.
Speaker 1 (00:02:51) - And so that's when I guess people could feel like, well, you are confident, you're confident, you're happy, you're bubbly, you know, you've got a really good energy. However, you know, that's me. Now, yes, I'm definitely the most confident version of myself now, but me 10 years ago was not that way. I was so insecure and so like broken and lost on the inside, right? I was just wanting to please everyone. I was wanting to fit in. I never wanted to stand out or be too much or be too loud. Like I actually used to get triggered when people would call me too loud because I do have a loud personality. But it just, it really conflicted with me. It really triggered me. And here's the thing, when it comes to triggers, right? And I guess I'm just gonna touch on this and then I'm gonna dive into a really awesome mental hack that actually my husband explained to me that he did well running a half marathon.
Speaker 1 (00:03:39) - I really wanna bring that story to you because I feel like that is so important. First off, if you desire a different or a more elevated experience of your life than what you are currently living, what you are currently experiencing, then this is when you must change that internal environment within you, that embodiment piece, because your external environment is purely a reflection of your internal reality. So if you feel really insecure and you have no confidence and you feel like you've got no self-belief, and why can't you be like the lucky people that just seem to have this shit together? It's because internally there's a lot that you need to work through. There's a lot you need to transcend, maybe heal and grow and evolve. And this all comes with picking up when you are actually triggered. So I couldn't stress enough. But the most important thing is to look at your triggers as a positive thing.
Speaker 1 (00:04:27) - They are not a bad thing, even though we feel really shit when they happen, maybe you can make us angry or upset or frustrated or jealous or judgy or whatever it is that comes up in us. Triggers are a positive thing. I dunno where this epiphany came from. I just began to look at my triggers, like it was a good thing, and it was an opportunity for me to explore. It is an opportunity to activate you, to explore it in order to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you desire to go. So it is the thing stopping you from becoming your highest self, that most confident, most successful, most wealthy version of you. Your triggers are what we allow to stop us. Now, whether they're conscious or unconscious, two different things. So really the most important thing is to really start becoming aware of your thoughts and what's going on, what's making that happen?
Speaker 1 (00:05:22) - What is triggering you? Where is it coming from? How is it making you feel? Pause, create space within that from the trigger to your response or your reactivity. And that's another conversation, right, which I delve deep into in this class with my matrix membership. But it's around like controlling that and responding in a way that you are proud of, that is a practice that sounds easier said than done. This is something I've been doing now for the better part of the last 10 years. And there is, I'm not gonna say an end in sight, but the things that used to trigger you will no longer trigger you when you, this just becomes in your automatic response when things trigger you rather than you, you know, running this, this scenario in your mind on autopilot and like going back and forth and you know, we've all done that, right?
Speaker 1 (00:06:09) - We've all been there where we have like had this situation happen and it really annoyed us. And next thing you know, we're like thinking of all these amazing comebacks and shutdowns, like after the fact even that we should have said, or if I said that, then you know, you know, we've done that, okay, we've all been there, we've all done that. However, when you can begin to practice this and notice like, what are your triggers? How are they making me feel? Where are they coming from? Pause and reflect and give yourself space between that response, if at all. You do not need to respond to every trigger either, right? How would your highest self act in those moments and then respond from that place. So the thing here is about becoming addicted to meeting your edges and being uncomfortable. And this is very uncomfortable work, but it will make you the most confident version of yourself.
Speaker 1 (00:07:05) - If you truly desire all the success or the recognition, all the wealth or the whatever it is that your version of success is. If you truly desire all that, you're going to have a multitude of challenges along the way of little initiations challenges to uplevel you. And every time you overcome those challenges, those things that trigger you, every time you overcome them and you respond or react in a way that you are proud of, that your highest self would be proud of, because that's how she would act in that situation, you level up, that is you leveling up. That is you meeting an edge, overcoming it, and you just keep climbing that ladder. Now, success is not a linear path. It never has been, never will be. And this is something I, I had an interview today with the beautiful Milli Jones, which you will hear in the episode next week.
Speaker 1 (00:07:59) - And we're talking about this, like talking about the concept of meeting your edges. And every time it's like you up level, right? You up level. And success is not linear. There are so many times where you fail forward, okay? I'm not gonna say failing, because the way that I explain failing is you only ever fail if you give up. If you completely give up, then there's nothing left, right? However, when you fail forward, when you learn, when things don't go to plan, when there are challenges along the way, that's life. It's not always rainbows and sunshine. It's, it is. There's, there's a lot. Okay? There's a lot. There's a lot of challenges that are gonna come up, but you become the person that can handle those challenges, all right? And I truly believe that every challenge is thrown at you. It's because the universe is testing you because it knows you can handle it.
Speaker 1 (00:08:47) - But it is testing you to see if you truly desire what it is you think you desire. Do you have that mental resilience? And I think entrepreneurship, there is that dark side of entrepreneurship, which not a lot of people speak about. And it is where we all experience failure. We all experience imposter syndrome and self-doubt and lack of clarity and lack of confidence and comparison artists. But you can get to the point where regardless of how you feel, you can still heal and grow and evolve and move regardless of the inner turmoil that might be happening. Like you can still, you don't have to wait until you heal everything. You don't have to wait until you know everything. You don't have to wait until you have all the money. You don't have to wait till you have all the success before you move, before you meet a new edge, before you become addicted to meeting that edge of yourself and making yourself uncomfortable.
Speaker 1 (00:09:42) - And I kinda, I look at it like it is an addiction, really. It's this addiction of becoming uncomfortable, putting yourself outside your comfort zone. If life was meant to be easy, would it be that rewarding if we weren't given challenges and tests and initiations, however you wanna look at it, life would be so boring if we felt comfortable if we stayed in our comfort zone all the time. Like, what have we got to move towards? What are we moving towards? What are we doing it for? You know, what is that thing? What are we doing it for? This is really the, I guess the epiphany that I had upon reflection was this point of becoming UNT triggerable, all the things that used to trigger me. And I was so triggered everything, even when people would share money, wins back in the day, like that used to triggering me big time because it wasn't in my realm of possibility to see that people could make a year income in a month or a week or a day, God forbid.
Speaker 1 (00:10:43) - You know? That was just unfathomable to me. Until now, it's not. So this is the thing, the more that you expand yourself, the more that you try and meet your edges, the more that you look at your triggers, like an activation and an initiation to that next level, more everything just comes together. The more beautiful synchronicities fall into place, things just fall into place, and then it all starts to make sense on retrospect. Everything starts to make sense at the time. It might feel like it's a total shit show, or nothing's working, and there's, you know, why isn't everything working for me? How come it works for other people? How come everyone else seems to be doing it really easily? But it's not the case, right? Success is not a straight linear path. There is a lot of lessons that are learnt along the way.
Speaker 1 (00:11:29) - There is a lot of initiations and challenges, and this is where it's, it's a good thing. Your triggers are a good thing. So take note of them. Take note of them. So something else that Amelia and I were discussing that you'll hear in the episode next week is we're talking about mindset, right? And yes, cliche, as it sounds, mindset is everything. Mindset is the beginning of your evolution. When you can master your mind, that is the beginning, right? That is when you literally, you can step into the person that you are supposed to be, the person that you desire to become. When you master your mindset, nothing holds you back. And that is where everyone should start. It's very underrated. We hear the term, you know, oh, mindset, oh yes, mindset. You know, that's just thinking positive and saying your affirmations, no, it's so much deeper than that.
Speaker 1 (00:12:24) - Let me tell you, <laugh>, it's so much deeper than that. And of course, there's different modalities and things that you can use to help you along that journey. And whatever feels good to you, there's a million different ways, right? There's not one way to success. There's a million different journeys, there's a million different pathways, and there's a million different challenges. But when it comes to your mental battle, that mental clarity, that mental resilience, only you can do that. And here is one way I wanna share with you how, and it was an incredible conversation I actually had with Mick about when he was running the marathon. So he run a half marathon in last month, it was in May with my mom. So him and my mom ran this half marathon together, and it works with this, this guy who used to be a boxer back in the day, like a professional boxer back in the day.
Speaker 1 (00:13:10) - And so he was explaining to Mick his mindset and what he would do, and it's the power of your thoughts. So you are not your thoughts. You can change your sh your thoughts. And this is how he would do it. And this is exactly what Mick did when he was running that half marathon. He said the way that he would look at his thoughts when he was in a fight, when he was in a boxing match, he would look at it like as if he was a security guard. He was sitting on the chair and he's looking at all these different TV screens, just monitoring everything. And then all those screens are his thoughts. So picture that you are the security guard of your mind. You are sitting there on a chair looking at all your thoughts on these TV screens in front of you, this array of TV screens. And then every time a TV screen is a thought that you don't wanna think, you don't wanna focus on, guess what you do? You get the remote and you switch it off.
Speaker 1 (00:14:12) - So that's what he would do in his boxing matches. He would go, Nope, don't wanna think that. Switch it off. And he would, he would visualize himself flicking off that TV screen, flicking it off. No, I'm not focusing on that thought. Oh my, I'm, I'm hurting. Like this part of my body's hurting, I'm flicking it off. And that's how he built this mental resilience to keep going. And that's exactly what Mick did in his half marathon. So as he was running, he pitched himself, he pitched himself in that chair, looking at his thoughts, his toes started to hurt. So he went, no, I'm not focusing on that. Because what you focus on amplifies, right? What you focus on amplifies, and that's what you'll experience more of. Now you can put that across any part of your life, not even just, if you're doing something physical and a part of you starts hurting, but you've still gotta get to the end, right?
Speaker 1 (00:14:56) - You've still gotta get to the end of that race. Look at that in any part of your life, what you focus on is what you expands. That's what your mind will gravitate towards. That's something really powerful. So this is what he did. He sport would hurt, his toe was hurting, and he was like, Nope, I'm flicking that off. So he flick off that TV screen and then, you know, this hill is so hard. And that was another thought. This hill is so hard, I flick that off. So as he was running, and it was 23 kilometers that he ran in like up hills, and it was raining a little bit, it was freezing cold <laugh> like it was. So it was just two Ks longer than a half marathon. It was 23 Ks in Apollo Bay, in a Victoria, Australia, beautiful part of the world, but freezing. And so every time a thought would pop into mixed mind that he did not wanna focus on, he would do exactly what this guy had said. Picture it. It is a TV screen and you can flick that off.
Speaker 1 (00:15:53) - Now, to me, when he was explaining that to me, I just thought, that is so powerful. Like the power of your mind is just incredible. Because you can, you truly can choose what you focus on. And if you have a thought, you can wipe that thought away, you can turn it off, turn off that screen. If that's gonna derail, you flick it off, you have the power. And that's a practice, that is a muscle that is building mental resilience. And it takes practice because in the beginning, when you start to try and do that, it's like this thought just runs rampant. And these repetitive thoughts, right? Thoughts are just a habit. They're a habit of thought. So when you have these habits of thought, and maybe they're just like, they're just this perpetuating cycle, you always experience these same thoughts over and over and over again, and they just keep running rampant in your mind, you were the one that needs to be the pattern interrupter.
Speaker 1 (00:16:44) - You were the one that needs to turn that screen off, turn that thought off, find where it comes from, heal it if you need to, and keep moving, keep moving. It is always a mental battle. But the more that you master your mindset, the more that you become unstoppable, the more that you become UNT triggerable. And nothing will get in your way from bridging the gap from where you are to where you desire to be and what you desire to create in your life. And with that being said, I'm gonna wrap up this episode because I feel like I've said enough, but I hope that resonates with you because you do have the power and mastering your mindset is the most transformational thing that you will ever, ever do. All right, I'm gonna leave that with you, but if you like this conversation, you are welcome to join the Money Matrix membership.
Speaker 1 (00:17:38) - I do dive into this UNT Triggerable concept a lot more. This matrix membership is a place where you, we are going to build you into the woman that you desire to become the one that can hold it all the success, the wealth, the recognition, all of it begins with building the foundations of who you are and your personality, your internal environment. That's where the focus is. I wanna focus on you, and this is the best way that I know how to do it, is to build you into the most confident version of yourself from the inside out.
Speaker 0 (00:18:10) - Thank you so much for listening to today's episode. I hope you enjoyed it. And if you did, I would absolutely love it. If you could, please leave me a five star review and let me know your thoughts. And if you know anyone who would benefit from listening to this episode, please share it with them.
